Here you can find an overview of several projects I have worked on during my study at The Amsterdam Fashion Institute and at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti . Every project contains a short summary wherein the aim and learning goal are described.
My overall inspiration comes from visiting exhibitions and fairs with the main focus on textiles. Textile is ever present; part of almost every human experience and in many ways textile is both the foundation of, and a testimony to the human ability to build complicated structures and systems. Language is littered with textile metaphors – interweave, the fabric of life, follow threads – but the textile itself is also a carrier of codes and values, reflecting the historic and ruling economic and social systems. I Believe that (contemporary and traditional) textile strategies are powerful tools for research, criticality and norm critical material practice.
