The inspiration for the digital-based prints derives from another perspective than just the imitation of fur. The basis lies in the details of the animals most frequently used in the fur industry. To sum up you can find the eyes of the raccoon and the fox, the tails of the mink and the rabbit, the ears of a bobcat, the footprint of the coyote and the teeth of the bear and the beaver. Additi- onally, there are items that resemble the characteristics of pelts and wolves. As all prints are first hand-drawn to get a playful feeling, there are different items in this collection, hand drawn prints, where you can still see the lines of the pencil, as well as digitalized prints. The digitalized prints are converted into Illus- trator to get a cleaner and minimalistic pattern. Moreover, prints mentioned above are computer printed on a double jersey (94% polyester and 6% elastane) and a 100% polyester pile. The rea- son for the choice of fabric is all in line with the winter collection ‘Elisabeth has an opinion’.

Moreover, the colour palette is in the same tone as those from the garment collection. In this way, everything can be linked and a solid print collection has been created.

Besides the computer-based printed samples, I have also prepared a handmade textile collection. This textile collection digs deeper into fur alternatives. Through the use of different kind of techniques, a broad and playful collection has been formed.

Techniques which are used for the creation of such swatches are: hand operated needle felting, weaving, printing and embroidery. All handmade swatches are placed on a card where you can find a conceptual and technical description. Moreover, each swatch has its own conceptual name. In this way, the aim to not lecture people but to inform them about the use of fur is accentuated. The technical description presents the industrial way of producing, the used techniques and care instructions.
