This project is based on a fictional character Josephine Mary Carter. We created three outfits based on the most important moments of her life.
1) 1900: Happier period of her life (in 1st place for meeting Ada her girlfriend); those are the most beautiful years of her life (rich, in love, full of life)
2) 1916: Sad period: Ada dies, WW1 starts, and she was raped; this is a transitory moment for our character, filled with insecurity and thoughts.
3) 1924: New life in Weimar, full development of her personality as a concrete journalist and new woman (developing her feministic side).
Josephine is a serious and strong character who is also really determined. Creative and open-minded with a passion for art. Well educated and a ‘’fast thinker’’. Conscious of the situation and proud of being a woman with a brave attitude. Her style can be described as elegant but also masculine. During the beginning of the 20th century she is very optimistic which she displays in wearing bright colors and extravagant clothes.
When Josephine was around twenty years old, she was used to let her hair down (as a way of showing freedom). With the war experience her attitude changes for a more introvert and thoughtful one. is way of thinking develops during the years in Wei- mar, when she became more conscious of her voice as writer and woman standing for her rights.
